Corpus Christi Type B Board grants The Ritz $230,000

The Board of Directors for CCPATCH and the historic 1929 Ritz Theatre, would like to thank Mayor Paulette Guajardo & City Council, the Type B Corporation, Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corporation (CCREDC), and city staff for the generous grant of $230,000 for The Ritz Theatre rehabilitation project. This is a matching grant to a Harvey Relief Grant of $230,000 received from the National Parks Service and the Texas Historical Commission.

The purpose of the Type B Incentive Fund is to provide funds for economic development, specifically the promotion and development of new and expanded business enterprise. The fund consists of .125% of the City’s Sales Tax which is administered by the Type B Board, appointed by the City Council. This program is administered by the CCREDC.

The scope of contruction includes exterior repairs outlined in the Harvey Grant and will be performed by Stoddard Enterprise, LLC, a Texas based company who has experience working with the Texas Historical Commission. In business since 1972, Stoddard Enterprise has worked on historic projects such as the Alameda Theatre, Ector Theatre, Austin County Jail, Llano County Courthouse, General Land Office, and more.
